During these times of economic crisis, Escondido faces many challenges. Preserving basic high-quality city services for our residents without raising taxes requires tough, courageous leadership.
This is not the time for “politics as usual” with politicians doing favors for labor unions or other special interest groups to obtain their support. As a member of the City Council Budget Subcommittee, I’ve worked hard to balance the need to keep our expenses in line with revenues – while using resources to maintain as high a level of police, fire and public works services as possible.
As your next mayor, I will continue to balance the need we have to be fiscally responsible and yet still provide the services our citizens have come to expect from our city. You can count on me to be a strong, independent leader who will stand up to the special interests and protect Escondido taxpayers.
Escondido also has many opportunities for economic progress that can create quality jobs and additional commercial services for those of us who live here. I will continue to pursue those opportunities to make our city an even better place to live, work, and play.
Please take the time to read more about my background and to review the news articles as well as the growing number of local and regional civic leaders, community members, and neighbors who are proud to endorse me as your next mayor. |
